It's that time of year! The Jefferson PTA is once again partnering with Project Unified for our annual Holiday Gift Drive. Project Unified is a joint project of Redondo Beach Council PTA and RBUSD that supports local RBUSD families during the holidays.
If you are able, please keep Project Unified in mind while doing your holiday shopping over Thanksgiving break. Use our SignUp Genius to see the families' wish lists and sign up for a slot. (If there's a specific gift you plan to buy, please leave a note in your sign-up to avoid duplicating efforts!)
Please bring new, unwrapped gifts or gift cards with receipts attached to the marked box in the Jefferson main office the week of Monday, Dec. 1 — Friday, Dec. 5. Additionally, please note the following information on the gift with a post-it or removable tag: 1) Family #, 2) age of child and 3) gender of child. (ie. Family #29, 9 year old, boy.)
yo-yo sale
On October 28th, Jefferson students attended a high-energy resiliency assembly featuring a presenter who wowed the crowd with a variety of yoyo tricks and inspiring messages. This unique program operates on a "pay it forward" model—our school received the assembly at no cost, thanks to yoyo sales from another school. Now it's our turn to keep the momentum going!
Yoyos will be available for purchase online from November 17–21. All profits will help fund an assembly for another school, continuing the cycle of kindness and connection. Orders will be delivered to students' classrooms during the first week of December.

What an amazing effort!! Very proud of ALL classes and families. By the November 10th deadline we got 96% of the way to our final membership goal! Congrats to Mrs. Morlock's class who reached 100% PTA participation first last Friday and named the Dolphin mascot this year, Demi the dolphin, which is a name connected to “people” or “community;” naturally inclusive. And congrats to Ms. Dangelo's class, who reached 100% this past weekend!! Both classes will receive pizza and popsicle parties. An amazing 5 classes qualified for popsicle parties with 80% participation or over! Congrats to them and to everyone for being active PTA members.
The Jefferson PTA supports the school by offering a number of enrichment activities, family social gatherings, and volunteer opportunities that are available to all Jefferson students and families. One way to support our school and show our children how we value their learning is to join the PTA!
Membership Goals
Two (2) memberships from each family
100% participation in each classroom.
One membership costs $15 and all dues are 100% tax deductible (TAX ID 95-6204301). A PTA membership does not mean that you will have to volunteer for the PTA. It helps pay for all the amazing additional programs at your child's school this academic year.
The first classroom to reach 100% participation gets to name our dolphin mascot this year!
Each class to reach 100% participation by Nov. 10th gets a pizza and popsicle party.
Jefferson has launched a new Friendship Club at our school in partnership with the Friendship Foundation, the local nonprofit that hosts the annual Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. Our Friendship Club is a once-a-month lunchtime club using games and activities to help students learn friendship building skills. If you have a student with special needs and/or social challenges who would benefit from extra practice with their peers, or if you have a student who wants to help their peers work on friendship skills, please invite them to check out our club. The club meets the 2nd Thursday of every month. We are requesting that each club member submit an application, but students can complete it after their first visit if preferred. We are also looking for parent volunteers to help facilitate the club. Contact specialed@jeffersonptarb.org for more information.
